Virat Kohli’s brilliant catch sends Matthew Short back:
After the departure of the openers, the responsibility of getting the innings back on track was on Matthew Short and Matt Renshaw. Both of them also performed well and looked set to build a big partnership but a brilliant effort from Virat Kohli dashed their hopes.
Short, who scored 74 runs in the last match, looks ready to score big once again. He was batting on 30 and was well set when Virat Kohli ended his stay at the crease. This wicket fell in the 23rd over bowled by Washington Sundar.
On the third ball of the over, the Indian all-rounder bowled a ball that bounced on the off stump and Short decided to play a sweep shot. He got down on one knee and hit a sweep shot.
The ball was hit hard, but Virat converted it into a brilliant catch at forward square. The former India captain had little time to react, but it was enough for him to complete the catch.
