As per the instructions of BCCI, Indian batsman Virat Kohli is likely to return for the Indian domestic tournament Vijay Hazare Trophy. Starring for Delhi, he is likely to return to action at the Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru for the first time since the stampede incident.
Royal Challengers Bangalore won their first title in the IPL last season, and then a tragic incident happened at their home ground, M. Chinnaswamy Stadium. A huge crowd reached the Chinnaswamy Stadium to celebrate the victory and the stampede led to action being taken against the officials, with the stadium being taken over by the BCCI.
Virat Kohli returned to M Chinnaswamy Stadium
The way has been cleared for the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium after the appointment of KSCA elected chief Venkatesh Prasad. According to the report of ESPN Cricinfo, they have also received permission from the Karnataka government to organize matches at the stadium.
Since BCCI will now have the ground to host Vijay Hazare Trophy matches, Indian great Virat Kohli is all set to make a comeback at the Chinnaswamy Stadium. KSCA is all set to shift Delhi’s matches from Aloor to Chinnaswamy due to security concerns due to Kohli’s participation in the games. Along with Kohli, Rishabh Pant has also been kept in the Delhi team.
