He said, “Retirement from two formats, this is the phase, but they are still playing ODIs. Don’t worry about it. The BCCI policy is quite clear; we do not ask anyone to retire, they have to make their decisions themselves. They have to take that call, and we respect it,” he said.

“When we come near it, we will cross the bridge. You are already arranging their farewell! Virat Kohli is very fit, and Rohit Sharma plays very well. Why are you worried about his farewell?” Shukla said that the hosts pushed him forward, urged for a fan-driven appeal for a farewell match.
