Indian domestic cricket has suddenly come alive in a way that no one expected. The return of Indian batting legends Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli to the domestic scene for the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2025-26 has left a deep impact on the young players of Mumbai and Delhi, both on and off the field.
For many youngsters like Delhi all-rounder Rohan Rana, Mumbai opener Angkrish Raghuvanshi and all-rounder Shams Mulani, sharing the field with Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma felt surreal.
Rana shared that during a match of Vijay Hazare Trophy 2025-26, a small crack appeared in Virat Kohli’s bat and what happened after that was a funny and memorable moment. The players ran around the dressing room in search of a new bat for Kohli. The young player said that everyone wants to help Kohli.

It’s magical: Angkrish Raghuvanshi on batting with Rohit Sharma
Angkrish Raghuvanshi lived a dream moment in Mumbai by opening the innings with Rohit Sharma. Angkrish shared that he was busy defending and releasing the new ball, while the former Indian captain was playing freely and hitting the bowlers all around the ground. From the other end, it was magical to watch the young opener, who said he would never forget that moment.
Mumbai’s young opener Angkrish Raghuvanshi: “I had the privilege of opening the innings with him. I was just watching from the non-striker, and he was smashing the bowlers; he was sweeping the fast bowlers. And watching from the non-striker was magical, and I have never seen him bat like that. Everyone I have batted with is a legend. If I had to describe playing with Rohit bhai in one word Well, it would be the best. In a word, it’s magical.”

“The home team, when he is coming to the Mumbai team, the aura that Rohit bhai brings is different. And I felt people became a lot more serious. They wanted to showcase their talent in front of him, in the nets or whenever he was around. They wanted to show how good they are in front of them, and they wanted to express themselves in front of Rohit bhai,” Mulani said in the video.
Virat Kohli brings happiness and comfort to Delhi camp with a small effort
Apart from scoring a century and a half-century for Delhi in his two matches, Virat Kohli also made an impact off the field. On the first day of practice, instead of sitting in the front of the team bus, he came and sat at the back with the young players. And Navdeep Saini shared that this small effort made everyone happy and comfortable in the Delhi camp.
Navdeep Saini said, “I will just share a small incident. We all have noticed that Virat bhai usually sits at the front in the team bus. On the first day of our practice, when he arrived, we were all sitting at the back of the bus. We thought that bhai would sit at the front like usual, but instead, he came and sat with us at the back. The happiness we felt seeing that moment was truly unforgettable. After that, our conversation was very interesting, and we enjoyed a lot.”
