Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma look unstoppable in ‘Roko Reloaded’ practice video released by BCCI

Indian legends Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma have been in good touch since their return to international cricket with the series in Australia. Both the legends will be looking to continue their shine in the ODI format with another series against the Kiwis.

India will take on the Kiwis in their upcoming series, which will begin on January 11. The series will begin with three ODI matches between the Champions Trophy 2025 finalists.

The series will then feature five T20I matches between the two strongest teams in the world currently. Both New Zealand and India have a good mix of young sensations and veterans, and these will mark the final preparations for the home T20 World Cup.

Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma are in great form in ODIs

Kohli and Rohit Sharma announced their retirement ahead of the Test series against England and had already retired from the shortest format of the game after last year’s T20 World Cup win.

Virat’s retirement from Test cricket has been controversial and there have been rumors of a comeback, but the legend has confirmed that he has closed that chapter of his illustrious career.

Making a comeback in ODIs against Australia, Rohit Sharma was the star performer in Sydney with a brilliant century and was the best of the series for India with 202 runs in 3 matches. Kohli, on the other hand, scored his first run at the SCG after being out for a duck twice in the series.

Later in the South Africa series, Virat Kohli remained unbeaten in India’s victory, scoring two centuries in the first two matches and an unbeaten half-century in the decider. Rohit also made some valuable contributions with two half-centuries.

Indian legends are performing well in domestic cricket

After the international matches, his poor form continued in the domestic cricket league also. Indian legend Virat Kohli returned to domestic cricket after a long gap of 15 years and scored a century in the first match against Andhra Pradesh. He followed this up by scoring 77 runs in the second game, which was the highest for Delhi in the game where they defeated Gujarat.

Rohit, on the other hand, played for Mumbai for the first time since the 2018 Vijay Hazare Trophy and played a brilliant inning of 155 runs in the first match against Sikkim. However, he was out for a duck in the very next game against Uttarakhand, ending the domestic season for both the stars.

Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli’s future endeavors with India

Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli have stated the 2027 ICC World Cup as their primary target. If they succeed in winning it for India, they will be known as happy giants. However, the BCCI has not assured them of a place until they prove their ability to continue till the 2027 World Cup.

Currently, they are preparing for the New Zealand series, which is starting in Vadodara. Both have tried to hit every ball in the nets and are looking strong ahead of the series. He will get another long break before returning to international cricket with the IPL and the England tour in June-July. In a video shared by BCCI, the duo were seen working hard in the training session.
