Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma got angry after giving autograph and photo to Pakistani fan in Australia

Team India, including experienced batsmen Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma, arrived in Australia for the upcoming white-ball series against the Mitchell Marsh-led side. Virat, one of the most admired cricketers in the world, autographed the jersey of Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) for a fan in Karachi, Pakistan.

The right-handed batsman is set to make his first international appearance following India’s Champions Trophy 2025 win in the upcoming ODI series starting on Sunday, October 19. While he has been included in the squad, speculation continues over whether he will play in the ICC ODI World Cup 2027 in Africa.

Virat Kohli last played for India in ICC Champions Trophy 2025

Virat Kohli, who currently lives in London with his family, returned to India for the first time after the conclusion of IPL 2025. Kohli last represented India in the Champions Trophy in Dubai and is making a comeback to the national team after almost eight months.

He played a key role in India’s Champions Trophy campaign and was the team’s second-highest run-scorer with 218 runs at an average of 54.50 in five innings. Under the leadership of Rohit Sharma, India won the title by remaining unbeaten.

The 36-year-old has retired from T20I and Test cricket and now plays only in ODIs. Kohli’s ODI future was a major topic of discussion before the announcement of India’s Australia tour squad.

Wearing team gear, Kohli met fans amid tight security. In the same video, the fan started taking Rohit Sharma’s autograph on Team India’s jersey.

The gesture attracted widespread attention, sparking both celebration and debate over his sporting spirit, given the ongoing tensions between the two neighboring countries.

Fans expressed excitement after seeing Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma. He expressed hope that this pair will perform well and India will win all three ODI matches of the upcoming series.

“I have met them before. They were very polite. Even Rohit bhai was in. He came back and gave a sign and a picture. That’s a lot. We are really excited to see both of them back in the team together. Let’s see how this series goes; I hope they win all three matches.”

Shubman Gill has taken over as India’s ODI captain, while Shreyas Iyer has been appointed as the vice-captain. The ODI series will begin on October 19 at the Perth Stadium, followed by the second and third ODIs on October 23 and 25. The tour will conclude with a five-match T20 series from October 29 to November 8.
