Former Indian World Cup winner Chris Srikanth believes that the legendary Indian pair of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli should be considered part of India’s XI until the 2027 ICC World Cup. However, he has urged the Indian management to match them with participation in domestic competitions.
Both Indian batting stalls Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma have retired the longest as well as the longest of international cricket. However, both great people have expressed a desire to continue in two remaining formats.
Between several reports, who have raised doubts about the future of two great people, Abhishek Nair, the practice advisor to Indian captain Rohit Sharma, has abandoned an update that claimed that he lost 10 kg with determination to return to the Indian side for the Australia series.

Srikanth felt that, given the contribution of two Indian legends, he should be entrusted with another opportunity after just one whisker in 2023 after missing the World Cup title.
“The very fact that they have said that they are available, they both want to play 2027 ODI World Cups, hoping they win the title, remembering it by a whisker in 2023. I will definitely give them because they have done a lot,” Chris Srikanth said on his YouTube channel.
He has also quoted that Indian great people should be urged to feature Indian domestic 50 overs sports so that they can be matched during a big interval in the Indian international calendar.
He said, “He will have to play all home tournaments across India. You should ask them to start playing one -day tournament like Vijay Hazare and other Challengers so that they return to the rhythm.”
The pair was last seen playing for India in the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy final, where India won the second consecutive ICC title under the leadership of skipper Rohit Sharma. The form of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli is also not considered a major concern on the Indian side, as two batsmen, despite their age, are innocent.
“I am sure they themselves know it, such stallvarts and successful former captains. Do they not have so much awareness? They know what to do and what not to do. For those who have achieved so much for those who have achieved so much, especially Virat Kohli, I will give them an additional bite of additional touches,” World Cup-winning opener continued.
