Star batsmen Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma shared a light-hearted moment with head coach Gautam Gambhir during a reception dinner at the Indian High Commission in London. The trio were seen laughing together at India House when the Indian team gathered ahead of the third and final ODI against England.
Rohit Sharma is in the headlines since the second ODI Against England in Cardiff on Thursday. Team India will take on the Harry Brook-led side in the series-deciding third ODI at the Lord’s Cricket Ground on Sunday, July 19. With both teams winning one match each, the final ODI will decide the winner of the series.
High Commission hosts Team India ahead of third ODI against England
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) shared pictures on social media of the reception dinner after the event at India House in London. Team India met the Indian diaspora in the United Kingdom ahead of the series-deciding ODI against England.

During the programme, senior officials talked about India’s rich cricket history on foreign tours. He highlighted the strong ties between the two countries through sports.
“BCCI Vice President Shri Rajeev Shukla also addressed the gathering reminiscing about some of India’s iconic teams.”

“The way I deal with pressure is to focus on things that are under my control and keep myself away from external factors,” said Shubman Gill during an interactive session.
“I just wanted to get out of the hospital. The call from my team members gave me a lot of motivation to get back to my training and come back stronger,” said India’s T20I captain Shreyas Iyer.
Earlier, the High Commission had also hosted the Indian women’s cricket team during its UK tour. Union Minister of Commerce and Industry, Shri Piyush Goyal joined India House to felicitate the women’s team on this historic occasion.
Rohit Sharma eyes big innings as India aim to win at Lord’s
The third ODI is an important match for former Indian captain Rohit Sharma, who is under pressure after two low scores in the series. The 39-year-old opener has managed only 37 runs in the first two matches and will look to return to form in the series decider.
According to Indian Express, Lord’s ODI could be Rohit’s last international match. The experienced player has already retired from Test cricket and T20I. He wants to calm the speculations with a strong performance.
Meanwhile, Virat Kohli has returned to form after recovering from a hamstring injury. After a low score in the first ODI at Edgbaston, he bounced back with a half-century in Cardiff. India will also aim to continue their unbeaten run in bilateral ODI series against England since 2018.
