Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) wicketkeeper Jitesh Sharma made a big statement on his conversation with Virat Kohli during the Indian Premier League (IPL 2025). Sharma said that he always maintained respect for Kohli’s stature and his conversation was limited to cricket related discussions.
Royal Challengers signed Jitesh Sharma for 11 crores, who tried to maintain him with a right-to-match card, after taking out Punjab Kings. He justified the price tag by excellent performance in the role of Finisher, giving the Bengaluru team several important cameo to help achieve the title.

Jitesh Sharma admitted that he kept a distance from Virat Kohli while playing for Royal Challengers Bangalore. He said that a brief conversation with Kohli was also important, and those discussions became meaningful.

“I come from a small town where you give great respect to your superiors. You don’t infiltrate their personal location,” Jitesh Sharma told the Times of India.
“My liye unse baat karni hi badi baat hai.
He said, “I used to talk to him only about cricket. Out of respect, I kept my distance. I only wanted to have a meaningful conversation with him,” he said.

Jitesh Sharma and Virat Kohli worked together as part of the RCB leadership group. The wicketkeeper served as the vice-captain, while Kohli’s experience made him an important person in the core setup.
Jitesh emerged as one of the standout players of RCB in the 2025 season, 261 runs in 11 innings at an average of 37.28 and a banged strike rate of 176.35 in 11 innings. He performed his best batting when he was a stand-in captain.
The right-handed batsman scored an unbeaten 85 off 33 balls against Lucknow super veterans in a high-score chase, rescuing 123/4 to secure a top-Twow Finnish. He shut down his campaign with a significant 24 -run cameo from just 10 delivery in the final against Punjab Kings.
Jitesh was recently remembered the national side after an impressive outing in IPL 2024. He will be with Team India for the upcoming 2025 Asia Cup in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
Virat Kohli finished IPL 2025 as RCB’s lead run-scorer
Virat Kohli ended an average of 54.75 on an average of 54.75 and a strike rate of 144.71 in 15 innings with 657 runs as RCB’s highest run-match, including eight to half-century. RCB defeated Punjab Kings in the final to achieve its first men’s IPL Trophy.
