Kohli’s focus remains only on ODI matches
After announcing his retirement from T20Is following India’s World Cup win and stepping away from Test cricket earlier this year, Kohli has now turned his entire focus to One Day Internationals (ODIs). The former India captain has made it clear that the 50-over format is his primary focus as he aims to guide the next generation of players while maintaining his world-class standards.
Kohli was last seen in action during India’s three-match ODI series AustraliaWhich ended on 25 October. Despite a poor start – being out for two consecutive ducks in the first two matches – the veteran batsman displayed his trademark resilience in the final match at the Sydney Cricket Ground. There, he played a brilliant inning of 74 not out off 87 balls to lead India to a spectacular nine-wicket win.
Although India eventually lost the series 2–1, Kohli’s innings reminded fans of his ability to bounce back under pressure and his enduring hunger for runs even after 16 years of international cricket.
