Former South African and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) Batter AB de Villiers recently revealed their list of five best cricketers played in Test cricket. In particular, de Villiers did not include his former IPL team partner Virat Kohli, despite the strong bond between them and outside.
AB de Villiers made his Test debut for the national cricket team in 2004. The right -handed batsman played 114 Tests and scored 8,756 runs above 50 with 22 centuries and 46 fifties. He last played a Test match against Australia in Johannesburg in 2018, where he scored a half -century.

During an appearance on the beard before the wicket podcast, AB de Villiers revealed his top five Test cricketers who played together or against him. He named Jacques Kallis, Andrew Flintoff, Mohammad Asif, Shane Warne and Sachin Tendulkar.

When England spinner Adil Rashid asked about the absence of Virat Kohli, de Villiers admitted that such options are difficult. He said that Tendulkar had an unmatched aura and the stadium would be silent when he came out to bat.
“Kallis, Flintoff, Mohammad Asif, Warne … and Sachin with the crowd. The way he (Tendulkar) was obtained, when he went out to bat – everything will come in a stagnation. He would come in a stagnation. He is beautiful to watch the batting.
Virat Kohli’s test career for test India
Virat Kohli ended his test career on 12 May. The right -handed batsman ended in the format as India’s most successful captain. Under their captaincy, the team played 68 Tests and won 40.
Kohli made his Test debut in 2011 with a debut against the West Indies. He became one of the most trusted batsmen in India, scored 9,230 runs in 123 matches, on an average with a highest score of 254, including 46.85, 30 centuries and 31 fifties.
He last played a Test match in the 2024-25 Border-Gavaskar Trophy. The 36 -year -old scored a century in Perth, but struggled to maintain continuity, finishing with just 190 runs in five matches.

AB de Villiers said that Jacques Kallis is the largest cricketer ever. He chose Pesar Mohammad Asif of Pakistan as the toughest semen, which he ever faced. De Villiers admitted that the legendary spinner Shane Warne never harassed him.
He also mentioned that Andrew Flintoff’s famous Yorker was one of the best people to dismiss Kalis in Edgbaston.
“Kalis is the best all-rounder or perhaps the best cricketer till date. Asif was the best seamor that I had ever faced.
He said, “Again Andrew Flintoff, who was a big-match artist. Yorker is the best for Kalis in Edgbaston I have seen,” he said.
