Virat Kohli issues 1 official statement on the RCB stamp case 3 months after the accident

RCB shared Virat Kohli’s response to the tragedy through the social media platform X. The former RCB captain paid tribute to fans who lost their lives or were injured in a stampede. He also expressed what a historical festival should have been.

RCB Stamped killed 11 at M Chinnaswamy Stadium

Stamped M Chinnaswamy occurred outside the Stadium when a mob allegedly overwhelmed a crowd of over two lakh people from the stadium, which had a capacity of just 32,000. The congestion caused 11 deaths, all less than 40, and at least 50 others were injured.

In response, Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah announced a compensation of Rs 10 lakh for the families of the deceased, and RCB promised each of the 11 families as a gesture of honor and solidarity to each of the 11 families.

The tragedy has endangered the future of RCB in IPL 2026. In particular, Justice Kunha Commission, who investigated the incident, concluded that the design and structure of the stadium is unsafe for large gatherings. The report also held KSCA responsible for RCB, DNA Entertainment and Stamped.

Royal Challengers Bangalore ends their social media silence

A few days ago, Royal Challengers Bangalore ended their social media silence and announced a compensation of Rs 25 lakh for each family of the victims.

The franchise also revealed a plan to install a memorial in Bengaluru to honor fans and introduced six-point manifestos with the aim of preventing similar incidents in future.

In view of the stampede, many cricket events have been transferred. The Women’s World Cup matches were transferred from Bengaluru to Navi Mumbai, and the local Maharaja moved to the T20 Trophy Mysuru.

The Karnataka government has blamed RCB, event management firm DNA Entertainment Network, and Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) for the incident.
