“Well, I told some of the boys that I don’t feel the pressure like last year. We knew what kind of potential we had in the group. We remained on top of the table. There’s a reason why we got here in the first place.
“And we just said one thing: if we stick to our cricket, if we execute our plans, we are the best team. And that’s why we have done well so far in the group stage. We finished on top in the league stage,” he said.

He added, “And yes, that’s just the skill set we have; the guys’ maturity and composure shone through again tonight, and it was a clinical performance.”
Virat Kohli praised his excellent performance in the season
The RCB cricketer praised the balance in the team, as he supported his teammates on many occasions to win so many matches with contributions from many different cricketers.
“There are people behind you, around you who can win games of cricket for you. We also have a lot of man of the match awards across the group,” he said.
Kohli praised RCB’s world-class fast bowling attack, which includes the experience of Bhuvneshwar and Josh Hazlewood, while also featuring the talent of young Rasikh Salam.
“I mean, you look at the world-class bowling like Hough, Bhuvi, Duffy. I mean, Krunal Pandya, you know, you can count on him, good as ever. Rasikh Dar was fantastic this season. All the batsmen also performed well.
“So I’m very happy to play in a group where we have balance, we have strength, and we’re an all-around strong team. And yes, that’s why we have confidence on the field right now,” he said.

Virat Kohli became the Player of the Match in the final of IPL 2026 and at the time of this achievement, he was 37 years and 207 days old. He became the second oldest player in the history of the competition to be crowned POTM in an IPL final.
After winning the Player of the Match title in the IPL final, Kohli said, “You have these young players who are working hard at you and asking you to be better. You have to score 20-30 extra runs. To get those runs, I have to change my mindset, not according to the game.”
Virat Kohli highlighted RCB’s IPL fanbase and said, “I always say we don’t just have 7 home games; we have 14. GT is the home team here, but probably 90% are RCB fans.”
