Virat Kohli wins hearts with heartwarming gesture for a young fan
At this stage of his career, a player of Virat Kohli’s respect isn’t surprised by many things, but even he was left speechless when he stumbled upon his childhood version on the eve of the Rajkot ODI.
A day before the series opener between India and New Zealand, a young fan who bore a striking resemblance to Kohli’s childhood image was spotted during India’s practice, and Virat Kohli couldn’t stop smiling.
After this the child came down and clicked pictures with the Indian legend and also took Kohli’s autograph. He then met many other Indian players including Rohit Sharma, Arshdeep Singh and Indian wicketkeeper KL Rahul.
Pointing towards Rohit Sharma, Kohli said, “Look, my duplicate is sitting there.”
When Kohli reached out to the fan, he also accepted the fact that the fan was actually ‘Chhota Cheeku’, as Cheeku was the nickname of the Indian cricketer during his childhood days, which was revealed by former captain MS Dhoni during his playing days.
The young fans revealed that when they heard Virat’s name, he waved hello and after some time came back with Rohit Sharma and said, “Wow Dekh mera duplicate baitha hai” (My duplicate is sitting tightly there) and pointed towards the young boy from Rajkot.
The young fan commented, “They called me Chhota Chiku. I met KL Rahul, Arshdeep, Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma.”
