In match number 42 between Gujarat Titans (GT) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), Virat Kohli gave a rousing farewell to his Team India captain Shubman Gill after taking a sharp catch in the cover region. Gill tried to play an uphill drive to Bhuvneshwar Kumar and did not get the required height, giving the former India captain an easy catch.
The incident occurred during the last ball of the fifth over, when Virat Kohli hit the ball on the ground and celebrated his aggressive on the field. With the catch, Shubman Gill departed after playing a blazing inning of 43 runs off 18 balls, putting GT in a good position while chasing 156 runs.

Earlier in the night, Virat Kohli was seen arguing with the fourth umpire during the first innings when RCB captain Rajat Patidar was given out after Jason Holder took a controversial catch as the ball was touching the ground while completing the catch and he was given out.
