Virat Kohli’s continuous streak of 50+ scores broken in Rajkot
Since returning to international cricket with the ODIs in Australia, Kohli regained form from the third ODI in Sydney after being out for two consecutive ducks. Kohli’s first 50+ score after his return came in the SCG ODI when he along with Rohit Sharma led India to their only win in the series.
He then arrived in India with the Indian contingent and scored 302 runs in the series with two centuries in the first two matches of the series and finished it with an unbeaten half-century. His form did not diminish even after his return in the Vijay Hazare Trophy, as on his return he stood tall with a century and a half-century.
Kohli started the New Zealand series with a brilliant 93 to help India successfully chase the 301-run target, taking him ahead of Rohit Sharma in the ICC ODI batting rankings. However, Rajkot finally broke his 50+ streak as he succumbed to the building pressure and was out for 23 off 29 balls.
