Virat Kohli dislikes Sachin Tendulkar and Rohit Sharma and picks former RCB star as best T20I opener

Before the IPL 2026 season, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) has shared a special video of Virat Kohli. The video shows how the batting maestro had to face sharp questions one after the other.

Ahead of entering the new phase of the Indian Premier League, the franchise had a quick chat with the former captain. The quick-fire round eventually turned into a competition to find the best batsman in the T20 format.

Who is the best T20 batsman of all time according to Virat Kohli?

For quite some time, the main player of Royal Challengers Bangalore was linked to former India opener Virender Sehwag due to the format. According to Virat, Sehwag could be a better batsman than Sachin Tendulkar, Brendon McCullum, Travis Head, Faf du Plessis, Shane Watson or even Travis Head in the Twenty20 format.

At several points in the round, Kohli took a long time before giving his decision. He also asked several times to ensure whether the comparison was only valid for the T20 format.

Former international batsmen like Shane Watson and Faf du Plessis played for Royal Challengers Bangalore in the past. Kohli kept Virender Sehwag ahead of his former teammates.

But when it was the turn of the ‘Universal Boss’, things changed rapidly. With a smile on his face, Virat chose former West Indies opener Chris Gayle. For Virat, Gayle is the best batsman among all the names that have come up in the round.

Royal Challengers Bangalore have started their training sessions for the upcoming Indian Premier League season. As the current champion of the tournament, for the first time in the history of the league, RCB will play in the opening match of the tournament. In the first match on March 28, they will face Sunrisers Hyderabad at the prestigious M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, RCB’s home ground.
