India’s final practice session before the opening match of the three-match ODI series against Australia turned out to be a memorable day at the Optus Stadium in Perth, where experience met with new energy in perfect balance. The visuals of Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill training together caught everyone’s attention, giving fans a glimpse of the strong bond between the Indian players.

The Indian cricket team went through another intense practice session at the Optus Stadium ahead of the first ODI in Perth on Sunday (October 19). Indian captain Shubman Gill spent a lot of time in the nets facing both pace and spin.

The former Indian captain used gestures to explain angles, timing and shot adjustments and the Punjab player listened to him attentively. Kohli shared tips with Gill several times during the nets sessions.

It was a rare moment when Indian cricket’s new leader was learning from one of the world’s most famous batting icons. The bond between Gill and Kohli reflects a healthy exchange of knowledge, which shows how smoothly India’s leadership transition is going.

On the other hand, KL Rahul, who will take over the wicketkeeping duties for the upcoming ODI series, was among the first to step into the nets at the start of the day. He worked hard against both fast bowlers and spinners. His timing looked sharp as Rahul looked set to once again strengthen India’s middle order.

As India’s practice session ended, there was a strong sense of urgency and unity in the camp. Every player seemed to be on plan, and the energy in the camp suggested the Men in Blue were here not just to compete but to dominate.

Notably, the much-awaited three-match ODI series will begin on Sunday at the Optus Stadium, followed by the second ODI on October 23 at the Adelaide Oval and the final match on October 25 at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG). After this, India and Australia will face each other in a five-match T20 series from 29 October to 8 November.
