Virat Kohli scored his first run against Josh Hazlewood after returning to international cricket, and the Sydney crowd was cheering the white-ball great’s first run. This could be Kohli’s last match on Australian soil.
India has reached the end of the three-match ODI tour of Australia, where batting kingpins Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli made their much-awaited return to international cricket. After the first two matches, the results were not looking too good for India or Virat Kohli.
Virat Kohli scored the first run of Australia tour in Sydney; The crowd cheers loudly
As captain, Shubman Gill was out on the ball of Josh Hazlewood. The SCG crowd, which included both Indians and Australians, stood in respect when Kohli came into the middle, perhaps for the last time in his career. The very next ball created a stir at the box office at the Sydney Cricket Ground.
Virat Kohli stepped forward and clipped his first ball to midwicket. The crowd roared loudly in response to one run as the veteran batsman repeatedly broke down the problem of being dismissed for a duck. Even Kohli pumped his fist and completed the run, and then looked like a relieved man.
So many emotions!
He’s off target and the crowd makes their joy loud!
