Veteran team India cricketer Virat Kohli has returned to cricket training in London after a break after the IPL 2025 season. On Friday, August 8, the right -handed batsman shared a picture with the Gujarat Titans (GT) franchise assistant coach Naeem Amin on his official social media account.

The 36 -year -old cricketer last played competitive cricket in the 2025 IPL, where he won his first title with Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) after waiting for 18 years. Kohli was the top scorer for RCB during the tournament. Since the victory, Delhi -born batsmen have been living in London with their family.

Virat Kohli retired from Test cricket last month after a 14 -year career. He was not part of the Indian team during the five-match Test series against England, which ended 2–2 under the captaincy of Shubman Gill. Ace batsmen retired before the T20I cricket after the T20 World Cup 2024 win.

Kohli recently shared a picture with Naeem Amin on Instagram, who is the head of the Mighty Willow Academy near London. Kohli thanked Amin for his support during practice.

Virat Kohli in fine form for RCB during IPL 2025

Virat Kohli was well in the form of IPL 2025. He scored 665 runs in 15 innings on an average of 54.75 and a strike rate of 144.71, including 8 half -centuries. He ended as the highest run-scorer for the Royal Challengers Bangalore, playing an important role in helping the team end the 18-year wait for the IPL title.

RCB defeated Punjab Kings (PBK) to win its first championship. The right hand batsman scored 43 off 35 balls at the summit at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

Kohli is the leading run-goldter in IPL history. He has played 267 matches for RCB, scoring 8,661 runs at an average of 39.54 with a strike rate of 132.85. He has broken 63 half -centuries and eight centuries, strengthening his legacy as one of the greatest batsmen in the league.

Virat Kohli expected to return to India on October 19

Kohli was expected to return to international cricket during India’s visit to Bangladesh, but the series has been postponed by September next year. During this period, there were speculation about scheduling a range of BCCI against Sri Lanka.

However, Kohli is expected to make his comeback on October 19, when India starts a three -match ODI series against Australia.

Fans will have to wait by October 2025 to see Kohli back into action, as he currently attends only one day. He last played an international match in the final of the Champions Trophy on March 9, 2025, where India won.
