Indian cricketers marked the arrival of the New Year 2026 by sharing heartfelt wishes and moments on social media, giving fans a glimpse of their celebrations. Virat Kohli celebrated the occasion with his wife Anushka Sharma in Dubai, enjoying time with his close friends and family and welcoming the New Year together.

With no matches taking place, Indian men and women cricketers used the New Year holiday to celebrate with family and close friends. Both the men’s and women’s teams enjoyed a successful year. The men won the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, while the women won their first ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup.

Virat Kohli welcomed the New Year in style with his wife Anushka Sharma, with the couple sharing glimpses of their celebration on social media. Kohli, who was dressed in a beautiful outfit, posted a picture of them together, while Anushka completed the look with a custom black ensemble.

Earlier, Kohli had also marked the occasion with a heartfelt post, in which he shared a picture with Anushka and in a caption expressed his excitement about stepping into 2026 with her.

The caption read, “Stepping into 2026 with the light of my life.”

Virat Kohli set to continue home comeback ahead of India vs New Zealand ODI series

Virat Kohli is set to continue his domestic comeback when he takes on Delhi in the Vijay Hazare Trophy match against Railways in Bengaluru on January 6, as confirmed by Rohan Jaitley.

Kohli has already made a strong impact in the tournament, scoring 208 runs in two matches, including a century against Andhra Pradesh and a quick half-century against Gujarat.

The right-handed batsman returned to the competition after 15 years. During this tenure, he achieved major achievements, including 1,000 Vijay Hazare Trophy runs and 16,000 List A runs. Kohli also became the fastest batsman to reach the 16,000-run mark in this format.

The focus will now turn to the international stage, with Kohli set to resume ODI duties when India begin the three-match ODI series against New Zealand from January 11.

Virat Kohli ends 2025 with a brilliant performance for Team India

Virat Kohli finished 2025 in great form with a strong performance in ODIs. In the three-match ODI series against South Africa, Kohli scored 302 runs at an average of 151 and strike rate of 117.05. He recorded scores of 135, 102 and 65 not out against the Proteas.

Overall in 2025, Kohli played 13 ODIs and scored 651 runs at an average of 65.10 and strike rate of 96.15. He scored 158 runs in four matches against Australia at an average of 52.66 and scored 100 runs in a match against Pakistan.

Kohli recorded seven fifty-plus scores during the year, including three centuries and four fifties. His best innings was 135 runs in 120 balls against South Africa in Ranchi, in which he hit 11 fours and seven sixes. He scored 102 runs on 93 balls in Raipur and scored unbeaten 100 runs on 111 balls against Pakistan.
