Chopra said that Kohli and Rohit are unmatched to draw the crowd. The former Indian batsman recalled how the former Indian captain used to play in the Ranji Trophy match for Delhi, fans attended a large number of Arun Jaitley Stadium earlier this year.

Akash Chopra said in his latest video uploaded on his YouTube channel on 12 September: “When Virat Kohli went to play a Ranji Trophy match, the stadium was almost filled. His absence is one of the major reasons that the tickets are not filled.”

Despite matches associated with India, Bangladesh, and Afghanistan, already being played in the Asia Cup 2025, no stadium has reached the entire capacity so far, and Chopra blamed the absence of crowds, saying that fans lost the inspiration to watch the tournament.

The commentator has further stated that if Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma were playing, the appearance in the United Arab Emirates can easily double or triple in the ongoing Asia Cup 2025.

Chopra signed, saying, “If they were present, voting could have doubled. Fantasy, if 5,000 people came earlier, at least 10,000 to 15,000 would have come to see if Rohit and Kohli were there. They rarely get a chance to see them in the person, so their absence is important.”

Even the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) has allegedly cut ticket prices to attract more fans at the stadium. Standard tickets, which were originally 475 dirham (around 11,420), are now reduced to 350 dirham (about) 8,415). About 50 percent seats are available for India vs Pakistan game on Sunday.
