The 34-year-old India national cricket team spinner Varun Chakravarthy dismissed his batsman Glenn Maxwell in the fourth T20I of the five-match series against the Australia national cricket team.
Varun Chakravarthy humiliated Glenn Maxwell in his comeback game for Australia in T20I cricket and dismissed him for the sixth time in his career at the Gold Coast Stadium (Carrara) in Gold Coast.
Glenn Maxwell was out on a low score off the bowling of Varun Chakravarthy.
Maxwell suffered a fractured wrist after being hit by a powerful shot from Mitchell Owen while bowling in the nets ahead of the T20 series against New Zealand at Mount Maunganui.
The all-rounder was immediately dropped from the team, and he consulted a specialist before going under the knife to ensure he made a quick recovery.
Maxwell last played a T20 match for Australia on 16 August against South Africa and made a comeback in the fourth match against India on 6 November. Australia were expecting some fireworks from the return man, but he failed miserably.
While chasing the target, Glenn Maxwell was out on the ball of Varun Chakraborty after scoring just 2 runs. On the sixth ball of the 15th over, the spinner bowled a googly on length outside the off stump and Maxwell made room to slap it. However, he missed the ball completely and his stumps were uprooted.
Varun Chakravarthy has made Glenn Maxwell his favorite in T20 cricket and has dismissed him 6 times in 9 innings, while giving only 50 runs in 34 balls.

Speaking before the toss, Australia captain Mitchell Marsh said they were excited to face India.
“We are going to bowl first. We don’t play here much. It’s great to be here, will try to get as much information as possible about the surface. It’s great, the five-match series is going on till the last two matches, both teams will be excited. We have four changes – Zampa, Maxwell, Phillip and Dwarshuis have come in for the other four.
Meanwhile, Suryakumar Yadav said that bilateral series gives teams a chance to challenge themselves. He said the conditions at the venue of the fourth game were largely similar to Indian conditions. He said:
“That’s what you play bilateral matches for, you challenge yourself and it’s a beautiful stadium, there’s everything to play for. The preparation has been good. We had a day off, had a good practice session yesterday, looks like a subcontinent wicket, later on it might be slow so we are happy to bat first. We were looking to bat first. It’s similar to Indian conditions, get runs on the board and we want to accept that challenge. We’re going in with the same team. Are.”
