Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Rajasthan Royals (RR) are currently facing each other in the 28th IPL 2026 match at the Eden Gardens, Kolkata on Sunday, April 19. In this clash, Varun Chakravarthy has been on fire with the ball as the spinner has completely broken RR’s momentum.
Rajasthan Royals had a great start at Eden Gardens as they scored 63 runs in the powerplay without losing any wicket and it seemed that they were heading towards a big score. But Varun Chakraborty, the biggest weapon of Kolkata Knight Riders, turned the match.

The mystery spinner put complete pressure on the RR batting lineup by dismissing Vaibhav Suryavanshi (46) and then Dhruv Jurel (5). In the 15th over, RR captain Riyan Parag tried to attack Varun. Even Parag played a reverse sweep and hit a four against the KKR spinner.
However, Varun made a strong comeback on the next ball. The mystery spinner threw a slow spinning ball to Parag. And the batsman tried to hit a big shot across the line but missed the ball completely.
The ball went straight and hit the stumps, due to which he returned to the pavilion after scoring 12 runs in 14 balls. This wicket was a big blow for Rajasthan Royals, while Varun got the third wicket in this match.
