Varun Aaron has suggested a change in India’s bowling combination for the third ODI against New Zealand

The three-match ODI series is tied at 1-1 India fast bowler Varun Aaron A thoughtful suggestion has been made before the decisive third game against new zealand. The final encounter, to be played in Indore on Sunday, January 18, has high stakes for both sides and Aaron believes India may need to re-evaluate a key aspect of their bowling strategy to gain an edge.

ODI series in danger after adverse results

India made a positive start to the series and won the first ODI played in Vadodara by four wickets after an all-round performance. However, the visitors responded strongly in the second match in Rajkot and chased down the target with seven wickets to spare to level the series. The result has set up an interesting decider, where small tactical calls can play a decisive role.

In the first two ODIs, India have gone with three specialist fast bowlers – Mohammad Siraj,Harshit Rana And Prasidh Krishna. Although the fast bowling trio has bowled with discipline, their returns in terms of wickets, especially during the powerplay overs, have not been up to expectations. This gave New Zealand’s top order an opportunity to settle early, reducing the pressure in the middle overs.

According to me, Arshdeep Singh should play this important match.” Aaron highlighted the importance of a bowler who can attack quickly and disrupt the opposition’s plans.

Arshdeep’s ODI figures underline why Aaron is confident of his inclusion. In 14 ODIs, the left-arm pacer has taken 22 wickets at an average of 24.90 while maintaining an economy rate of 5.29. His ability to combine control with wicket-taking makes him a reliable option in the 50-over format.
