Vaibhav Suryavanshi is set to join in as India and Pakistan gear up for another thrilling encounter as the Asia Cup Rising Stars Championship is set to begin from November 14 to 23 in Doha, Qatar. However, there is intense discussion on whether the controversy over the Asia Cup 2025 trophy presentation will finally end.
All eyes are once again on Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and Asian Cricket Council (ACC) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi, who have retained the Asia Cup trophy despite India being the rightful winners of the continental title.
India vs Pakistan ready for another clash in Asia Cup Rising Stars Championship
They are still waiting for the formal presentation of the silverware. With this unresolved tension, the Asia Cup Rising Stars Championship is already under scrutiny due to Naqvi’s involvement.
The rebranded event, previously known as the Emerging Asia Cup, will now be played as the Asia Cup Rising Stars Championship.

All eight main Asia Cup participating countries including India, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Oman, UAE and Hong Kong will participate in the upcoming Asia Cup Rising Stars Championship.
The group stage promises to be a blockbuster clash, with India and Pakistan drawn in the same group once again. However, the Super Four round is not a part of this event.
Doha gears up for 10 days of cricket fever
The five Test-playing nations: India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Afghanistan and Sri Lanka will field their A teams, while the other three participating teams including UAE, Oman and Hong Kong will send their full-strength teams for the Asia Cup Rising Stars Championship.
This tournament will be played in T20 format and a total of 15 matches will be played in ten days in Doha. Group A will contain India, Pakistan, Oman and UAE, while Group B will contain Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan and Hong Kong. The top two teams from each group will qualify for the semi-finals and the final will be held in Doha on November 23.
Defending champions Afghanistan will be aiming to retain their crown after their remarkable performance in the 2024 edition, where they defeated India A in the semi-finals and Sri Lanka A in the final at the Al Amerat Stadium in Oman.
Last year, Tilak Verma, Abhishek Sharma, Rahul Chahar and Prabhsimran Singh emerged as the new stars for Indian cricket.

For the upcoming edition of the Asian Championships, India’s squad has almost been finalised, which is expected to include exciting young talents like Vaibhav Suryavanshi. BCCI may officially announce the Indian team for this event in the coming days.
Additionally, another Asia Cup, but for under-19 teams, will take place in December. However, the tournament will be played in the 50-over format, with dates and venues to be confirmed soon.
As the Rising Stars Championship approaches, the question remains: will the trophy dispute finally be resolved, or will the drama of Asia Cup 2025 be repeated at these events too? Notably, the entire Asia Cup Rising Stars Championship will be telecast live on Sony Sports.
