The left-handed batsman has rewritten the IPL record books by scoring the fastest IPL century (35 balls), second fastest IPL half-century, a six off the first ball of his IPL career and a half-century in 15 balls against CSK.
“In just 8 IPL matches, he is creating records – he already has a century. I think he will get a chance after the IPL in the upcoming international matches for India. He will be a young player in the T20 International team. He has proven himself everywhere. If he continues to perform, he will definitely get a chance,” Kamran Akmal said on YouTube show GamePlan.
Akmal Vaibhav impressed by Suryavanshi’s extraordinary consistency and maturity
Akmal is stunned to see how mature and fearless Suryavanshi looks at such a young age. He was also amazed by Suryavanshi’s intelligence, praising the youngster’s shot selection, ability to handle pressure and calmness, making him already look like a future superstar.
The former Pakistani cricketer further added, “His mental capacity, his awareness of the game and the way he plays – he has an answer for everything at such a young age. It is remarkable… We are discussing his performance more because it was a (low-scoring) match of 128. But his performance is visible because he scored 50 off 15 balls.”

Akmal lauds Vaibhav Suryavanshi’s childhood coaching, predicts he will be unbeaten by 25
Akmal credited Vaibhav Suryavanshi’s father and his coaches who shaped his technique for his incredibly rapid progress and incredible shot-making in school and club cricket.
He further added, “His family and his father should be proud – the way he has worked with him, the way other people have also loved the coaches who have taught him in school cricket, club cricket.”
Akmal believes that this is the beginning of an incredible journey in Vaibhav’s cricket career. If Suryavanshi is destroying top-class bowlers at the age of 14, Akmal looks like he can become one of the most dangerous batsmen in the world when he enters his mid-20s.
He signed off by saying, “I’m afraid that when he turns 25, the bowlers won’t know what to do with him.”
