India’s crushing defeat against Ireland in the first match of the 2-match T20 series has made another strong case for Vaibhav Suryavanshi’s inclusion in the playing eleven after being left out of the first match in Belfast.
Since top-order batsmen like Sanju Samson and Ishan Kishan flopped in the previous game on Friday, June 26, questions have been raised whether Vaibhav Suryavanshi should get his first cap for the national senior cricket team for the second and final match of the series against Ireland.

Should Vaibhav Suryavanshi be allowed to debut for Team India in the next match against Ireland?
While many people have opined in favor of Vaibhav Suryavanshi’s debut, former Team India cricketer Dilip Vengsarkar thinks differently. He acknowledged that Vaibhav has performed very well in T20s in recent times, but should he be entitled to play in the upcoming matches against Ireland or the upcoming white-ball series against England? Vengsarkar doubts
The 70-year-old player said that before reaching any concrete decision about the young talents, it is important to see them in the longer format as well. Vengsarkar believes that the 15-year-old will definitely perform well in Tests, but he will have to prove it on real grounds.
“He is a talented youngster who has done very well in T20s, and I am sure he will do well in Test match cricket as well. But we have to wait and see how he plays in the longer format, which is very important,” the former India captain said in a video for news agency PTI.

Dilip Vengsarkar highlights Vaibhav Suryavanshi’s unique batting style
Throwing light on some features of modern cricket, Vengsarkar said that there has been a lot of change in cricket. When he was younger, coaches and trainers told him to focus only on copybook shots. The former cricketer believes that Vaibhav Suryavanshi’s batting style is completely different and unique in its own way, which is not similar to the traditional methods.
“His batting is completely different. Because when we grew up we were told to just play in the V and just play on the ground. So nowadays, because of the different formats, I think he is trained differently,” he said.

A rare bad situation at the office for Indian batsmen
Last night, Team India had to face a crushing defeat against the home team Ireland. The team captained by Shreyas Iyer collapsed for just 148 runs as against the host team’s 182 runs. Ireland cricket team won this match by 34 runs and took a 1-0 lead in the 2-match series.
Since it is a two-match series, the Men in Blue will be desperate to bounce back in the second match on Sunday to level the contest against the England cricket team, which could be more challenging for the touring side.
It was a tough day for the Indian batsmen as apart from Abhishek Sharma’s half-century, the rest of the Indian XI did not perform well. Newly appointed captain Shreyas Iyer also had a poor performance in Belfast last night.
