The former national cricket team of India opened the batsman and BCCI selector, Chris Srikanth, has supported the 14 -year -old batting sensation Vaibhav Suryavanshi to snatch Sanju Samson’s Asia Cup 2025 location.
Chris Srikanth said that Vaibhav Suryavanshi should open an innings with Abhishek Sharma in the Asia Cup 2025, in which Sanju Samson was killed with the XI to play.

In a video shared on his YouTube channel ‘Cheeky Cheeka’, Chris Srikanth highlighted how Sanju Samson struggled against small balls in the house T20I series against England and said he should be removed from the team.
He said that either Vaibhav Suryavanshi or Sai Reformson should open Sanju Samson with XI and open it with Abhishek Sharma. The 1983 World Cup winner appreciated Vaibhav Suryavanshi for his amazing start in IPL 2025 and supported him to play ICC Men T20 World Cup 2026. He said:
“Sanju Samson wanted against the short ball against England. According to me, it would be suspected that if I were a selector, Abhishek Sharma would have been my number 1 option. No. 2, I will go to either Vaibhav Suryavanshi or Sai Sudarshan.”
“I will also have Vaibhav Suryavanshi in my 15-member T20 World Cup squad. He is playing brilliantly.”

He further called for Shreyas Iyer’s return in the T20I setup after his stellar IPL 2025 and nominated him as a certainty with Exer Patel and Hardik Pandya.
