Rajasthan Royals teenage player Vaibhav Suryavanshi was seen talking to Lucknow Super Giants team owner Sanjeev Goenka after the two teams’ IPL 2026 clash in Jaipur on Tuesday.
Royals strengthened their chances of clinching the last available spot in the IPL playoffs with a 7-wicket win over LSG. LSG is already out of the playoff race, while RR has the best chance among the five teams still in contention for the final spot.

Vaibhav Suryavanshi missed the century
RR’s stand-in captain, Yashasvi Jaiswal, decided to bowl first and LSG made the most of that opportunity.
Josh Inglis was at his devastating best and LSG scored 83 runs in the powerplay. He made a partnership of 109 runs with Mitchell Marsh and scored 60 runs in just 29 balls.
Marsh himself was out after scoring 97 runs before being dismissed in the last over. Marsh also made impressive partnerships of 42 runs with Nicholas Pooran and 64 runs with Rishabh Pant respectively. LSG eventually set RR 221.

Vaibhav Suryavanshi struggled early on, scoring just 11 runs off his first 12 balls, while Yashasvi Jaiswal maintained the pace in the powerplay. Jaiswal was out for 43 in the opening innings of 75 and Vaibhav Suryavanshi carried on in his usual manner.
With the help of 10 sixes and 7 fours, he eventually scored 93 runs in 38 balls and added 105 runs in just 7 overs with Dhruv Jurel. The most brutal stretches included Akash Singh’s 26-run over and Mayank Yadav’s 29-run over.
By the time Suryavanshi was out, RR basically needed one run-a-ball, and Jurel brought up his half-century and completed the chase in the last over.
LSG owner Goenka was seen talking to Suryavanshi
After the match, LSG owner Sanjiv Goenka was seen talking to Vaibhav Suryavanshi, and the scenes were captured by the broadcasters.
Suryavanshi was talking to young fans and giving them autographs when approached by Goenka. It seemed like the two were having a friendly conversation and laughing
Former India batsman Sunil Gavaskar eavesdropped on the conversation during the commentary and enthusiastically tried to understand the words the two were saying to each other.
Gavaskar teased RR’s possible move for Suryavanshi by saying on air, “I will bid for you soon.” At best, Gavaskar’s comments can be dismissed as humorous rather than speculation as there is no real indication that RR will ever release Suryavanshi unless he specifically says so.
