Young Indian batsman Vaibhav Suryavanshi is in the news in Australia with his batting performance in the first youth test in Australia. The 14 -year -old batsman recorded a stunning centenary at Ian Heli Oval in Brisbane and set a new record for the fastest century on Australian soil in young tests.
India dominated the early days of the first youth test against Australia (Tuesday, 30 September), in which their bowlers destroyed the domestic side for 243. Devesh Devendran raced for five wickets for just 45 runs in 16.2 overs, while Kishan Kumar took three wickets.
Steven Hogan, who scored 92 runs in 246 balls, was the only artist for the domestic side, but failed to contribute the rest of the batting lineup. Indian openers made an aggressive start in response to day 2.

Hayden Shiller started with a no-ball, and Vaibhav Suryavanshi broke twice in a row. After scoring 16 runs in the first over, Suryavanshi continued his aggressive approach. Ayush Mahetre also tried to attack, but was rejected for fifth for 21 runs off 15 balls.
Suryavanshi continued to dominate the bowlers and broke Aryan Sharma to reach fifty by 37 balls for two sixes in the 15th over. Left -handed batsman and Vedant Trivedi added a 152 -run partnership for the third wicket.
Suryavanshi then broke six consecutive and two fours in the 30th over to take India ahead 200. He completed a magnificent century in only 78 balls, including eight fours and seven sixes. Southpow placed India in a comfortable position despite the early dismissal of Ayush Matre and Vihan Malhotra.

Vaibhav Suryavanshi broke several records with 78 balls in the first youth test against Australia U-19. He became the fastest batsman to reach a century in a young test on Australian soil, crossing Liam Blackford of Australia, who took 124 balls in 2023.
In just 14 years and 188 days, Suryavanshi also became the youngest batsman to score a century in a young test in Australia. It was his second young Test century in 100 balls, earlier scoring 58 balls against 58 balls against Australia U-19 in Chennai in 2024.

Vaibhav Suryavanshi has emerged as one of India’s most talented young talents. He set a new record for the highest career sixes in the young ODI in the Young ODI series against Australia at Ian Heli Oval, crossing Anmuk Chand.
Suryavanshi first attracted attention in domestic cricket during the 2023-24 Ranji Trophy season. He started his first class against Mumbai in just 12 years and 284 days, which became the youngest player in the history of the tournament.
The left -arm batsman then became the youngest player to sign the IPL contract. Rajasthan Royals (RR) bought him before the IPL 2025 season.
Vaibhav demonstrated his explosive batting by scoring a centenary of 38 balls, which was an Indian and the second fastest overall fastest in the history of IPL after Chris Gayle, which hit 30 balls in 2013.
