Rajasthan Royals sensation Vaibhav Suryavanshi is on the verge of creating not one but two new records in the ongoing Indian Premier League 2026 (IPL 2026). It’s one of two possible records the 15-year-old can claim tonight when Rajasthan Royals take on Delhi Capitals at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur.
According to statistics, Vaibhav Suryavanshi needs only one six to complete 100 sixes in his Twenty20 career. If he is able to do so, he will be the first teenager in the history of cricket to score a century of sixes in this particular format.
Vaibhav Suryavanshi is in great form for Rajasthan Royals
Like the last IPL season, the young opening batsman has continued to dominate in the current season as well. The Bihar-born player has scored 400 runs in 9 matches at an average of 44.44 and an impressive strike rate of 238.09, including one century and two fifties, with his best score being 103.
So far, Suryavanshi has scored a total of 1101 runs in 27 T20 innings, supported by 99 maximums. He needed just one big hit to complete his century. Rahmanullah Gurbaz of Afghanistan, who hit 90 sixes, needed 52 innings, while the Indian opener could achieve this record in only 28 innings.

Vaibhav Suryavanshi can also break Abhishek Sharma’s record
This player of Rajasthan Royals can make another record in his name, which is now in the name of Sunrisers Hyderabad opener Abhishek Sharma. At present, the record of hitting most sixes in a season of the Indian Premier League is in the name of Abhishek Sharma. In 2024, the SRH batsman hit 42 sixes, which is the most number of sixes hit by a batsman so far in the history of the league.
Vaibhav Suryavanshi will have to hit only 6 sixes to break Abhishek’s record. In the current edition, the left-handed batsman has hit 34 fours and 37 sixes. He hit the maximum number of sixes while scoring a century against Sunrisers Hyderabad in Jaipur on 25 April. He hit five fours and 12 sixes in his innings of 103 runs in 37 balls.
Before the match, KL Rahul praised the Royals batsman.
Tonight Rajasthan Royals will face Delhi Capitals. The Capitals, who have not had a good season so far, should take advanced precautionary measures to prevent the dangerous batsman from playing another big innings. Before the match, DC opener KL Rahul said that what the 15-year-old cricketer has achieved, he could only dream of at that age.
KL Rahul said on JioStar, “What the new-age cricketers are doing is amazing. Vaibhav Suryavanshi has taken world cricket by storm. Two centuries at the age of 15 is something I never even dreamed of. Ayush Mhatre has also done well, helping CSK score runs quickly. It is scary the amount of talent emerging from India, especially in T20 cricket. These fearless talents are changing the way T20 is played.”
