India are supporting the top order despite Sanju Samson’s poor form.

Earlier, India bowling coach Morne Morkel had openly made it clear that the team management wants to support its established top order comprising Sanju Samson, Abhishek Sharma and Ishan Kishan. However, Samson’s place is under question after his recent decline.

But Morkel has insisted that he has decided to support Samson keeping in mind his performance in the ICC T20 World Cup 2026. Indian head coach Gautam Gambhir and captain Shreyas Iyer have also supported the decision and refused to take Kishore to the highest level.

The Indian leadership team believes that Vaibhav is a special talent, but they want to give him a chance at the right time rather than include him in the team. Well, it remains to be seen whether they change their mind at the last minute or not.

“We need to tell the BCCI and the selectors, Ajit, how come he didn’t play against Ireland? Our guy, the kid,” Vaughan said on the Stick to Cricket podcast. To which Alastair Cook replied: “I’m there tomorrow, and I’m driving as a fan to make sure the 15-year-old plays.”
