At an age when most players are still playing age-group cricket, the young Rajasthan Royals opener confidently dominated some of the best bowlers in the world in IPL 2026. He has not only attacked the bowlers but also shown a lot of maturity in different situations.
Vaibhav Suryavanshi surprised the cricket world with his fearless batting.
Their numbers were absolutely incredible. Vaibhav finished as the leading run-scorer in IPL 2026 with 776 runs at a blistering strike rate of 237.30. Due to his remarkable season, the selectors are now seriously considering including Vaibhav for his India debut for the upcoming T20Is.
Vaibhav Suryavanshi has been selected in the India A squad for the one-day tri-series in Sri Lanka later this month. The tournament will feature India A, Sri Lanka A and Afghanistan A. A strong performance there may make his path in the senior Indian team even easier.

Explosive IPL 2026 season brings Rajat Patidar back in the race for India selection
Meanwhile, Rajat Patidar has also strengthened his claim for a place in India’s T20 team. The RCB captain enjoyed a memorable IPL 2026 season and led his team to a historic IPL title. His calm leadership and match-winning performances played a huge role in RCB’s success.
Everyone was impressed by the way Patidar batted throughout the tournament. The RCB captain has scored 501 runs at an explosive strike rate of 192.69, and is now seen as one of the most dangerous middle-order batsmen in T20 cricket.
His stellar season has reportedly brought him back into the national selection radar. Reports suggest that Patidar is now being viewed as a possible option in India’s batting lineup in the shorter formats of the game given his form and experience.
Patidar is likely to be selected in India’s T20 squad for the upcoming tours of Ireland and England, along with Vaibhav Suryavanshi, while Shreyas Iyer could become the new captain in this format.
The Madhya Pradesh batsman has already played three Tests and one ODI for India but failed to take advantage of the opportunities. Now, he will aim to grab the T20I opportunity with both hands if offered.
