For the second time in as many weeks, Rajasthan Royals boy Vaibhav Suryavanshi has faced AI allegations. The 15-year-old boy’s firepower has everyone wondering if he might even be real.
Earlier, Pakistani analyst Nauman Niaz had suggested that Kishore might be using an AI chip in his bat. Suryavanshi replied to this and said that his talent is completely God given.
Now, England and Gujarat Titans wicketkeeper-batsman Jos Buttler has also joined in and said that Suryavanshi could actually be the creation of AI. Earlier this year, Buttler had said that Vaibhav Suryavanshi is the best player he has ever played.
“He’s great to watch” – Jos Buttler
Buttler was speaking on the ‘For the Love of Cricket’ podcast, which he hosts with former England teammate Stuart Broad.
βI actually texted Jofra [Archer, Sooryavanshi’s teammate at RR] And asked, ‘Is that AI?’ Has Elon Musk created this teen sensation who is just a bat wizard?’ But no, she’s real β and she’s fantastic to look at. He is becoming a really exciting player, and I think there is a very good chance we could see him in England this summer,β Butler said.
India will tour England for a white-ball series in July.
Vaibhav Suryavanshi in IPL 2026
Despite being just 15 years old, Vaibhav Suryavanshi has shown no signs of the second season blues. After scoring a century in 35 balls last year, he scored a century in 36 balls this year. He has already held the Orange Cap several times this year.
At present, he is third in the Orange Cap list, the race is very tight this year. In IPL 2026, no other batsman has more sixes than Vaibhav Suryavanshi.
With 400 runs at a strike rate of 238, Suryavanshi has been nothing short of a revelation. At the age of just 15, there were many demands for his inclusion in the Indian national team.
Vaibhav Suryavanshi More than his aggressive batting, it has been the quality of the bowlers that has surprised everyone.
In IPL 2026, Suryavanshi faced bowlers like Jasprit Bumrah, Pat Cummins and Josh Hazlewood for the first time in his career and hit all three for a six on the very first ball. Butler talked about how it will remain a famous piece of trivia about the teenager.
“I have to admit that in the IPL, you spend a lot of time on your phone in your room. I was scrolling through Instagram when my eyes fell on Sunrisers’ post-match coverage where they were giving away some awards.”
“He was talking to Pat Cummins after the first game of the season, and James Franklin said to him, ‘You’ve joined a very exclusive club today with Jasprit Bumrah and Josh Hazlewood.’ I remember thinking, ‘This is some company – what club is this?’ And then he said, ‘The first ball you bowled to Vaibhav Suryavanshi, he also hit you for a six’, Butler said.
“So Suryavanshi, having faced the first three balls against Hazlewood, Bumrah and Cummins β arguably the three all-time greats β has each been bowled to the ropes for six. Of all the records he may break in his career, I think he might be one of my favourites. It’s outrageous.”
“You can imagine a coach saying to 15-year-old Vaibhav, ‘These are very good bowlers, mate β maybe take a look at one.’ And he has decided to launch each of them out of the ground on the very first ball. It is absolutely extraordinary.β
