Vaibhav Suryavanshi disintegrates under pressure in U19 Asia Cup and Pakistan drowns in celebration

The Pakistan dugout was on its feet and seemed elated by the dismissal of India’s young opener Vaibhav Suryavanshi, who has troubled the bowlers but has consistently failed against Pakistan.

India are currently playing in the Under-19 Men’s Asia Cup, and the Ayush Mhatre-led side made a great start to their campaign with a 234-run win against UAE in the first game. Young batsman Vaibhav Suryavanshi performed brilliantly with the bat and scored 171 runs in just 95 balls. His innings took India to a huge score of 433 runs in 50 overs.

Pakistan Under-19 team is also part of the tournament and they started their campaign with a 297-run win over Malaysia. For them, Sameer Minhas remained the pick of the batsmen with an unbeaten 177, and fast bowlers Mohammad Syam and Ali Raza took three wickets each.

Vaibhav Suryavanshi got out cheaply against Pakistan

In the second game of the tournament, Pakistan captain Farhan Yousuf won the toss in a rain-affected 49-over-a-side game and elected to bowl first. Captain Ayush Mhatre opened the innings with the destructive Vaibhav Suryavanshi.

Pakistan fast bowler Mohammad Syam had the new ball and he caused the first bloodshed for Pakistan in the form of India’s most destructive batsman Vaibhav Suryavanshi. He bamboozled the left-hander with a ball that was slow for him, and he failed to make proper decisions.

Despite his young age of 14, Vaibhav Suryavanshi was selected as India’s first-choice opening batsman for the Rising Stars Asia Cup competition. He opened for the Jitesh Sharma-led team and also scored a century in the match against UAE.

In his second game against Pakistan A, Suryavanshi single-handedly scored 45 runs off just 28 balls at the top of the order, while the rest of the team returned without making any significant contributions to the scoreboard.

India managed to score 136 runs in their innings and Suryavanshi was the top scorer in the innings, followed by Naman Dheer with 35 runs.
