India vs England 2nd T20 match will be played at Emirates Old Trafford, Manchester. After the first match was canceled due to rain, fans are hopeful that they will get to see the full match of the second match between the two teams. Ahead of the match, the much awaited and anticipated debut of Vaibhav Suryavanshi finally happened.
Vaibhav Suryavanshi, at the age of 15 years and 99 days, has become the youngest player to make his official debut for the senior India men’s cricket team. He broke the long-standing national record of Sachin Tendulkar, who made his senior debut against Pakistan in 1989 at the age of 16 years and 205 days.

Vaibhav Suryavanshi made his debut in international cricket
Vaibhav Suryavanshi got cap number 122 for the India national cricket team. He was extremely troublesome in the Tata Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026, as he dismissed every bowler while batting for Rajasthan Royals (RR). The southpaw got his cap from team vice-captain Tilak Verma. Vaibhav looked emotional after receiving the cap.
Vaibhav broke some records in the IPL as he became the youngest player to win the Orange Cap as he finished as the leading run-getter in the tournament with 776 runs, with one hundred and five half-centuries, and a blistering strike rate of over 237. He also played an amazing innings in the final of the List A tri-series, scoring 94 runs off 29 balls.
“I think he fully deserves to be included in the team”- Shreyas Iyer after Vaibhav Suryavanshi’s debut
Talking about the match, India won the toss and decided to bat first. India made one change with Vaibhav replacing Sanju Samson. The latter has been in tough form in the last few innings, and thus the Men in Blue are currently eyeing the most in-form batsman in T20 cricket.

Team India captain Shreyas Iyer praised Suryavanshi a lot. During the toss, the captain said that he is in amazing form and considering the way he is batting in the nets and facing the bowlers, he deserves to be in the team.
At the toss, Shreyas Iyer said, “We will bat first again. We have one change. Vaibhav has come in place of Sanju. Obviously you have seen him in the last few months, the way he has been batting. Not really. I think he fully deserves to be in the team.”
“He is someone who doesn’t take pressure at all. His nature is steadfast. He is well aware of what is going to happen in these coming matches. The way he bats in the nets and faces the bowlers shows the kind of player he is. You see the competition, it is game after game – the amount of talent India produces is pleasing to the eye. Keeps us prepared. I think the pressure is a privilege.”
