In match number 53 between Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), Urvil Patel went crazy in the game while chasing the target of 204 runs at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. The CSK batsman scored the joint fastest half-century in the history of IPL.

After the fall of Sanju Samson’s wicket, Urvil Patel came to bat and went out of the field with the very first ball, because his strike rate was more than 500. The batsman completed his maiden half-century in just 13 balls and joined Team India opener Yashasvi Jaiswal, who had scored a half-century before him against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR).
Urvil Patel goes crazy against LSG
Urvil Patel has hit 8 sixes and only two fours in the innings so far. He scored 25 runs each in two consecutive overs against Avesh Khan and Digvesh Rathi, which changed the course of the game for the Yellow team who were chasing a good score of 200 runs. The batsman was dismissed by Rathi on 62 runs.

But after being dropped, he struggled to score runs and eventually returned to the pavilion after scoring 65 runs off 23 balls. The batsman was dismissed by Shahbaz Ahmed caught by Avesh Khan. However, he played his part in the run chase as he kept CSK well ahead of the required run rate.
Urvil broke a new record
This was his first fifty in this season of IPL. Urvil’s strike rate in the four innings played so far has been 239.13. Last season, he played only three games and had a strike rate of over 200. He impacts the entire innings and is a game-changer with his aggressive and powerful batting style.
But the young batsman has the range to hit the onside area. He also needs to change his game and not just play at a faster pace. He also broke Suresh Raina’s record of the fastest half-century for CSK in IPL, as Raina scored this half-century in 16 balls. Urvil took 3 deliveries less to create a new record today.
