In the reverse match of Tata Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026, Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) hosted Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium in Hyderabad. The Orange Army took revenge by defeating the defending champions by 55 runs. Despite the loss, RCB remained on top of the table and will face Gujarat Titans in Qualifier 1.
Pat Cummins won the toss and elected to bat first; The Orange Army played the same team in their win against Chennai Super Kings (CSK). RCB captain Rajat Patidar made just one change as skipper Jacob Bethel returned after missing the last game due to injury.
IPL 2026: SRH vs RCB Match Result:
After electing to bat first, SRH’s destructive opening pair of Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma got off to a blazing start. They made a partnership of 45 runs for the first wicket before getting out on the score of 26 runs and then Abhishek took over the innings by scoring fifty runs in 20 balls and was soon out after scoring 56 runs.
Then Ishan Kishan and Heinrich Klaasen took charge and continued the attack. Kishan completed his half-century in 31 balls and the century partnership between them took just 42 balls. The Proteas batsman scored his half-century in 23 balls. Krunal Pandya broke the partnership of 113 runs by taking the wicket of Klaasen.
The Orange Army finished on top at 255/4 in 20 overs. Kishan was out on the last ball of the innings after scoring 79 runs in 46 balls and Nitish Kumar Reddy played an impressive and explosive inning of 29 runs in 12 balls.
While chasing the target, RCB opened with Venkatesh Iyer and Virat Kohli. The former was aggressive, coming out with all guns blazing and scoring 60 runs for the first wicket in four overs. Venky Uyer returned with 44 off 19 balls as Ishan Malinga made the breakthrough. Soon Kohli was also out on 15 runs.
Devdutt Padikkal came back after scoring 21 runs in 14 balls, then captain Rajat Patidar and Krunal Pandya formed a partnership, with the captain completing his half-century in 37 balls. Travis Head broke the 84-run partnership by dismissing the RCB captain for 56 runs. RCB completed the score of 200 runs.
