In match number 59 of the Tata Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026, Rishabh Pant’s Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) host five-time champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at the Ekana Stadium in Lucknow. Both teams came into this game with different scenarios, but LSG came out on top and won the game by 7 wickets.

LSG captain Rishabh Pant won the toss and decided to bowl first. They made four changes: Mayank Yadav, Akash Singh, Mukul Chaudhary and Abdul Samad came into the team. Josh Inglis was used as an impact player. For the Super Kings, it was two changes, one of which was forced. Jamie Overton was dropped, Spencer Johnson came in and Gurjapaneet Singh also came back.
IPL 2026: LSG vs CSK Match Result:
Sanju Samson and Ruturaj Gaikwad made a good start after being invited to bat first. But former CSK fast bowler Akash Singh, who now plays for the Super Giants, put in a strong performance against his former team and took the wicket of his former skipper Gaikwad at the score of 13 and was followed by Sanju Samson at the score of 20.

It was all Aakash Singh’s contribution as he also dismissed the dangerous Urvil Patel, who scored the joint-fastest half-century the last time the two teams met. He took 4 wickets for 26 runs in his four overs. Then Karthik Sharma and Dewald Brewis made a beautiful partnership of 70 runs for the fourth wicket.
The latter was out for 25 runs. Karthik once again shone for the Men in Yellow, scoring 71 runs in 42 balls, hitting 6 fours and 5 sixes and batting at a strike rate of 169.05. He was dismissed by Shahbaz Ahmed, who scored 14 runs from the first three balls before being dismissed.
Shivam Dubey scored 32 runs from 16 balls, and Prashant Veer scored 13 runs from 10 balls, as CSK scored 23 runs in the last over, and finished with a score of 187/5 in their 20 overs.

Mitchell Marsh and Josh English, chasing the target, made a fast start to the innings. The former player scored 28 runs against Anshul Kamboj in one over, in which he hit four sixes and a four in the fourth over. Both scored 86/0 runs in the power play. Marsh completed his half-century in 21 balls and inside the power play.
Both of them made a partnership of 100 runs in the 7th over. Inglis was out on the score of 36 runs and the 135-run partnership was broken by Mukesh Chaudhary on the very next ball. Marsh was back with an unfortunate run out at the non-striker’s end as Nicholas Pooran played a straight shot and the fast bowler came into his hands and the Australian returned with 90.
The flurry of wickets put LSG on the back foot and they struggled to score runs. However, Nicholas Pooran provided the finishing touches by scoring 32 runs in 17 balls and hitting four sixes in an over.
