Tata Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026, Match No. 14 was between Delhi Capitals (DC) and Gujarat Titans (GT) at Arun Jaitley Stadium, New Delhi. GT beat DC by one run. DC won the toss and decided to bowl first. Shubman Gill comes into the team after missing the last game against Rajasthan Royals (RR).
In the DC vs GT match, GT openers Sai Sudarshan and Shubman Gill got off to a good start. However, the former was dismissed by Mukesh Kumar at the score of 12 runs. After the wicket, GT had no plans of slowing down the pace as Jos Buttler took charge and thrashed the DC bowlers all over the park. After the powerplay, GT’s score was 68/1.
IPL 2026: DC vs GT Match Result
The former England captain scored fifty off just 24 balls and built a half-century partnership with Gill after being merely a spectator at the non-striker’s end. However, Butler was out on the ball of Kuldeep Yadav on the score of 52 runs in 27 balls. Gill and Washington Sundar then led the charge against the DC bowlers as the GT skipper brought up his half-century with 50 off 33 balls.
Gill was out on the bowling of Lungi Ngidi after playing a brilliant innings of 70 runs in 45 balls. Both the batsmen made a partnership of 105 runs for the third wicket and put the Titans in the driver’s seat. Sundar was also aggressive and scored a half-century in 30 balls.
The southpaw was out for 55 as GT managed to post 210/4 in their 20 overs. They will feel that they scored 20 runs less because when Gill and Sundar were batting, 230 runs looked possible in the DC vs GT match.
Chasing the target, DC openers KL Rahul and Pathum Nissanka got off to a good start and scored runs at a good pace. Nissanka was aggressive as he scored 23 runs in the final over of the powerplay against Ashok Sharma. However, he was out after scoring 41 runs in 24 balls. The former player scored a half-century in 29 balls.
However, Rashid Khan took two back-to-back wickets, dismissing Nitish Rana and Sameer Rizvi as the latter was out for a duck on the first ball. At one time DC’s score was 113/3. After this there was a flurry of wickets as David Miller also retired hurt, the Proteas batsman had injured his finger while playing the shot.
Later, Axar Patel walked back as Rashid Khan took his third wicket in the game. Tristan Stubbs returned with the score of 7 runs after a brilliant run out by Sai Sudarshan. With Rahul present at the other end, the wicketkeeper batsman scored a brilliant 92 runs off 52 balls and DC were in trouble at 166/6.
The DC vs GT match went down to the wire as Miller returned from his finger injury and walked out to bat again. With 13 runs needed from the last over, Miller would have been angry with himself as he failed to get DC over the line, as DC lost by one run. Fans enjoyed every moment of the DC vs GT match.
