Punjab Kings (PBKS) defeated Chennai Super Kings (CSK) by 5 wickets. In the CSK vs PBKS game, Shreyas Iyer won the toss and decided to field first, as he came into the game with an unchanged side. Later, Shivam Dubey performed aggressively and helped the home team cross 200 runs, and he himself scored 45 runs in 27 balls. As CSK finished with a score of 209/5, they must have been feeling that they were 15-20 runs short due to the kind of start they got.
Coming into the chase, PBKS openers Priyansh Arya and Prabhsimran Singh were out on a flyer. The former was aggressive, scoring 39 runs in 11 balls and helping Punjab Kings get the start they needed while chasing 210. Both of them made a partnership of 61 runs for the first wicket. Prabhsimran later took over the innings after Matt Henry dismissed Priyansh Arya.
Prabhsimran Singh was in big trouble as he was run out after a scuffle with Cooper Connolly and was out on 43 off 34 balls. Later, Connolly and Shreyas Iyer took over the innings; However, the Australian team returned after scoring 36 runs.
Later captain Shreyas scored a fifty in the run chase. Punjab Kings have made it two wins out of two, and CSK are yet to open their account in IPL 2026. Iyer was out after scoring 50 runs on 29 balls. After the CSK vs PBKS match, Super Kings have now lost 6 consecutive matches at home.
