Manchester Super Giants beat London Spirit by seven runs, with Liam Livingstone awarded the player of the match award.

Jos Buttler entered the match needing only a few runs to overtake Chris Gayle, and he reached the landmark during his brief innings at Lord’s. The England star now has 14,572 runs in 487 T20 innings, while Gayle finished his career with 14,562 runs in 455 innings.

Kos Buttler’s consistency in franchise and international cricket has helped him climb the rankings. His T20 career now includes nine centuries and 102 half-centuries, which shows his longevity and ability to score in various leagues around the world.

This milestone also marks Jos Buttler’s return to top form in 2026. After a difficult phase with the bat, he rediscovered his rhythm during the IPL, where he scored heavily for Gujarat Titans before carrying that confidence into international cricket and The Hundred.

Babar Azam is currently on top with 4,596 runs, while Rohit Sharma is at second place with 4,231 runs. Buttler is just 19 runs behind Rohit Sharma, which means he could soon grab another spot if his excellent form continues.
