Australia clinches the series against India even before the third ODI
The third match of the three-match series between Australia Women and India Women is special because it is Healy’s last ODI match before her retirement.
Australia walked into Hobart’s Ninja Stadium as winners of the bilateral tournament with a 2-0 lead. Apparently, on paper, the match was much more than a dead rubber. But, it is the iconic Australian batsman who is having a historic moment for Australian cricket as well as women’s cricket in the world.

The wicketkeeper-batsman completed his final white-ball century off 79 balls, which included 18 fours. This was the 35-year-old’s eighth ODI century and third against India. As soon as he touched the hundred-run milestone, the batsman changed gears.
Healy also reached the score of 150 before dismissing Sneh Rana. He scored 158 runs off 98 balls, which is his second highest score in this format. The innings of 158 runs was decorated with twenty-seven fours and a few sixes. Today, out of his total score, he scored 120 runs only through boundaries.

However, the iconic knock ended in a strange manner. A high fulltoss from Sneh Rana, which was between the stumps, did the job. The umpire had to check the height of the ball, but everything was fine and Alyssa Healy went back to the pavilion. Healy slid across the crease to attempt a reverse shot, which he somehow failed to play and was bowled out.
Alyssa Healy’s illustrated ODI career
From 2010 to 2026, Healy appeared in 126 Women’s ODI matches and scored 3777 runs with the help of 8 centuries at a batting average of 37.02. Her individual highest score, 170, came against the England women’s cricket team in Christchurch on April 3, 2022.
On the cusp of her ODI career, the batsman scored consecutive centuries against India Women and Bangladesh Women in Visakhapatnam last year. This veteran cricketer also scored a half-century in the current 3-match ODI series.
With the help of Alyssa Healy’s 158 and Beth Mooney’s unbeaten 106 runs, Australia women’s team climbed a mountain of runs and scored 409 runs for 7 wickets in 50 overs. Georgia Vole also scored 62 out of 52.
To win the match, India women will have to score 410 runs in their limit of 50 overs, which is a very tough challenge. With the ball, Rana and Nallapureddy Charani scored two goals each for India.
