Gill was asked by the Control Board to do a hard work by the Control Board for cricket in India (BCCI), when he was named as Rohit Sharma’s successor.

Not only this, an additional responsibility fell on his shoulders when the team management decided to push him to a place in batting order to change Virat Kohli at number 4.

And to make things even more difficult, Gill’s first term is in England as a Test skipper, where India has not won a series since 2007, and the batsman himself set a bad record on English soil.

Despite all these things, Gill did not see any kind of pressure on going out to bat. He was seen focusing a lot from the beginning and batted with great intentions.

Gill used the platform set by the Centurion Yashsvi Jaiswal the most and played a wonderful innings, harassing the English bowlers. He reached his half -century milestone off just 56 balls, showing positive intentions.

After that, Gill became a little cautious, but he ensured that he reached the three-acknow mark and completed his century off 140 balls with four. He removed his helmet and roared aggressively before pulling his trademark festival.
