Australian batsman Travis Head is often cited as one of the most explosive cricketers in modern cricket, no matter what the format of the game. Scoring his fourth consecutive Test century in Adelaide, he now joins the rare company of Australian legend Sir Don Bradman.

Australia are progressing well in the ongoing Ashes. They have already won the first two Tests under the leadership of their stand-in captain Steve Smith and are in a strong position in the third Test as well.

One of the main reasons for Australia’s dominance has been left-handed batsman Travis Head, who has batted with great flexibility in the series and is also their highest scorer with the bat. He recently completed his second century of this Ashes and that too at his favorite venue Adelaide.

Travis Head equals Don Bradman’s record with Adelaide century

Left-handed batsman Travis Head has shown some extraordinary composure since being promoted by the Australian team to the top of the batting order following the injury to Usman Khawaja. He has batted tremendously and scored 2 centuries in 5 innings.

Coming to Adelaide, Travis Head scored his fourth consecutive century in a Test match in Adelaide. This has helped him tie the record for most consecutive centuries at the same venue with some of Australia’s greatest players.

Other Australians in this elite list include the great Sir Don Bradman, who scored four consecutive centuries at the MCG and Headingley in England; Former Australian captain Michael Clarke, who also scored four centuries in Adelaide; and Australian Test veteran Steve Smith, who holds the same record at the MCG.

Head has the most centuries by an Australian batsman in this decade

Coming into this decade for Australia, Travis Head has ruled the roost across all formats for the yellow team. Head, who has worn the yellow jersey as well as the baggy green jersey, is one of the very few players to play in all three formats for Australia in recent times.

This left-handed batsman, who opens in T20I and ODI, is the kingpin of limited overs. Now, after dominating the middle-order, Head is also enjoying his new role for Australia in the longest format of the game.

He overtook Australian legend Steve Smith in terms of scoring the most international centuries for Australia in this decade. Head has 15 centuries for Australia in 147 innings, while Steve Smith is second with 14 centuries in 163 innings.

South Australian boys lead Australia to victory on the third day with century partnership

South Australia’s two big boys, Alex Carey and Travis Head, have lined out strongly for the Australian team at the Adelaide Oval. While Australia had a chance to secure the Ashes title with a dominant win at the Adelaide Oval, Alex Carey helped his cause with a maiden Ashes century in the first innings.

Coming into the second innings, Australia took their lead beyond 350 runs with the help of a brilliant century from Head and a half-century from Alex Carey. Both also added 122* runs for the 5th wicket and stabilized the Australian innings.

The fourth day of the Adelaide Test will begin with Travis Head remaining unbeaten on 142* and Alex Carey remaining unbeaten on 52*. Australia has a lead of 356 runs in the second innings.
