Sunrisers Hyderabad opening batsman Travis Head praised his opening partner Abhishek Sharma in IPL 2026. The duo, named ‘Travishack’, has been one of the best opening partnerships in modern IPL cricket since coming together in IPL 2024.
Head was speaking on the sidelines of SRH’s win over MI on April 29, when he described his working relationship with Abhishek and how they work well together. Head himself played a crucial inning of 76 runs, helping SRH achieve the fourth highest target in IPL history.

Speaking to host broadcaster Star Sports after the match, Head said, “I know if the spin comes, I just give him the strike. I’ve probably never played with a better spin-hitting batsman. I think he’s one of the best in terms of ball-striking against spin that I’ve ever seen.”
“I know in the powerplay, we saw again in this game that teams are starting to get down the pace against us. So, it’s about getting him on strike and seeing him do his thing. He puts teams under huge pressure. It’s a great partnership, we don’t have to talk much”.
In this year’s IPL, no player has scored more runs against spin than Abhishek Sharma. Nor has anyone hit more sixes than him against the tweakers this year. Abhishek is also at the forefront of hitting fours against spin in IPL 2026.
His strike rate against spin in the IPL this year is the second best among all players who have faced at least 25 spin balls in the tournament.

Abhishek Sharma has also hit 31 sixes in this tournament, which is the second most by any batsman. He is one of only two batsmen to hit 10 or more sixes in an innings in this IPL season.
During his 135* against Delhi Capitals, he became the first Indian batsman to hit 10 or more sixes more than once in an IPL innings, and also the first player in IPL history to score multiple scores of 130 or more. Abhishek Sharma also leads in terms of fours in IPL 2026 with 40 fours.
