The Tata Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 has entered the second week of the 19th edition of the tournament. On Saturday, the competition will feature the first double header of IPL 2026, with the first game pitting Delhi Capitals (DC) against Mumbai Indians (MI), and the second match between Gujarat Titans (GT) and Rajasthan Royals (RR).
Gujarat Titans and Rajasthan Royals made different starts to their tournament. GT started their campaign with a defeat against Punjab Kings and on the other hand, Royals completely thrashed Chennai Super Kings and won their first match by 8 wickets. The GT vs RR match is going to be played at Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad.

Gujarat Titans will return home for their first home game of GT vs RR over the weekend, as the Titans will look to bounce back after a tough defeat against PBKS in their opening game. GT qualified for the playoffs in the last edition of the league. However, they lost to MI in the eliminator and were eliminated.
Rajasthan Royals come in with new intentions with new captain Riyan Parag, as he led the team well with amazing bowling changes in the first game. The Royals pace duo of Jofra Archer and Nandre Berger wreaked havoc against the CSK batsmen and the Yellow Army were bowled out for less than 127 runs.
This fixture has produced some amazing matches in recent times. The two sides met twice last season, one of which was won by the Titans and the other by the Royals. Of the last five matches between GT vs RR, three matches have been won by Shubman Gill’s team, and two matches have been won by the Pink Army.
Fans will be arriving in large numbers for the GT vs RR clash as it is a Saturday evening and the Titans’ first home game. It is said that the playing pitch of the Narendra Modi Stadium provides a good batting track for the batsmen, with such pitches having a higher proportion of red soil than black soil, allowing them to play their shots.
The red clay surface will allow free-flowing stroke play and real bounce, as was demonstrated during the last T20 World Cup, where exceptionally high scores of 200 were common. So we can expect a high scoring game today.
