The Tata Indian Premier League (IPL) is expanding from the eastern part of India to the capital New Delhi, with Delhi Capitals (DC) facing off against Gujarat Titans at the Arun Jaitley Stadium, New Delhi on Wednesday evening.
Both teams have had opposite starts to their IPL campaigns, with DC having won two consecutive games, and GT still looking for their first win. The DC vs GT match is scheduled to start at 7:30 PM IST.

Capitals won their last game against Mumbai Indians, with Sameer Rizvi once again playing a brilliant innings to chase down the target of 157. GT, on the other hand, lost two close games against Punjab Kings (PBKS) and Rajasthan Royals (RR). In their last game, they missed their regular captain, Shubman Gill, due to a muscle soreness.
DC is still missing Mitchell Starc; However, the Capitals’ bowling attack did not look like the franchise, with Australia missing the experienced pace bowler. So far, DC’s middle-order has risen to the occasion; So far, KL Rahul has not been in form as he has scored a duck and one run in the last two matches.
DC will be looking to fire up their top-order, with Pathum Nissanka scoring 46 runs in the last game, although he is still not at his best. Sameer Rizvi has been a star for the team. In the next game, he once again rose to the occasion and scored 90 off 51 balls and almost missed his century. He will look to continue his purple patch in the upcoming game against GT, as he is second in the list of Orange Cap holders in IPL 2026.
Shubman Gill may return for GT after injury in the last match. The captain is expected to lead the team in the DC vs GT game on the night. His batting will also be important in the match. Last season, most of the runs were scored by Gill and opening partner Sai Sudarshan as the middle order did not perform well.
The pitch of the DC vs GT match at the Arun Jaitley Stadium is expected to be high scoring. When matches were played at this venue in the evening, teams would often manage to score over 200 and teams would win the toss and choose to bat first.
