3) Mohammed Siraj – IPL 2022
Gujarat Titans fast bowler Mohammad Siraj He faced a tough IPL campaign in 2022, despite being one of India’s premier fast bowlers, playing for RCB at the time. Known for his aggression and ability to swing the new ball, Siraj struggled badly with rhythm and consistency throughout that season.
The right-arm fast bowler hit 31 sixes during the tournament, which made him among the bowlers who suffered the most against aggressive batting attacks. Batsmen regularly targeted him during the powerplay as well as the death overs, where he often failed to execute his yorkers and slower balls effectively.
Siraj finished the season with only nine wickets in 15 matches. His average of 57.11 and economy rate of 10.07 reflects the struggles he has endured throughout the campaign. In fact, in terms of economy rate, IPL 2022 remains the most expensive season of his IPL career. The expectations attached to Siraj after his strong performances for India in international cricket made the season all the more disappointing. However, T20 cricket can often be brutal for fast bowlers, and the 2022 edition served as a reminder that even elite fast bowlers can go through tough times in the IPL.
2) Rashid Khan – IPL 2025
afghanistan star Rashid Khan Enters IPL 2025 with a reputation as one of the most dangerous T20 bowlers in the world. However, the Gujarat Titans spinner experienced an unusually poor season, hitting 33 sixes throughout the tournament.
For years, Rashid had based his success on his ability to outwit batsmen with accuracy, control and subtle variations. But during IPL 2025, the opposition teams seemed more prepared against them. Many batsmen attacked him fearlessly, especially during the middle overs where he traditionally dominated.
The leg spinner finished the campaign with just nine wickets in 15 matches while maintaining an economy rate of 9.34. These figures represent the worst IPL season of his career in terms of both wickets and economy.
At that time, Rashid’s unwanted record of hitting 33 sixes was the biggest record ever in IPL history. Given his incredible legacy in T20 cricket, this season came as a big surprise for fans and experts.
Nevertheless, Rashid’s class and experience ensured that many backed him to make a strong comeback, proving once again that even veteran bowlers are not immune to the tough IPL season.

1) Anshul Kamboj – IPL 2026
Chennai Super Kings fast bowler Kamboj now tops this unwanted list after hitting 34 sixes during IPL 2026. The young fast bowler’s campaign became one of the most talked-about stories of the season due to its dramatic ups and downs. Kamboj emerged as one of the biggest positives for CSK early this year. He took wickets consistently with his fast pace, aggressive length and fearless approach. For most part of the season, he looked like a genuine breakout star and played a vital role in keeping CSK competitive.
However, things changed during the latter half of the tournament as opposition batsmen began targeting him heavily. In Chennai’s final league stage clash against Gujarat Titans, Kamboj hit four sixes, taking his season tally of sixes to 34 – the most by a bowler in a single IPL edition. The match also marked another unwanted milestone, as Kamboj became the first bowler to concede more than 500 runs in IPL 2026. As CSK failed to qualify for the playoffs, their season ended with that record attached to their name.
Despite the late struggles, the campaign was not entirely negative for the young player. Kamboj still remained one of the leading wicket-takers of the tournament with 21 wickets in 14 matches, highlighting the impact he had throughout the season.
